Info:
I have never been to this place, but am looking forward to visiting it for the first time.  From what I have read and heard it sounds like Sand Mountain is the hill to try to climb.  It's not the steepest hill around but it is the longest and takes a while to get to the top. I'm hoping to have a pipe on my Raptor before I go so I won't be the last one up the hill (any challengers?).  I think it will take about 7 hours maybe quicker the way I drive plus or minus an hour.  It is about 450 miles all freeway except for the last 30 miles depending on how you go.  Again I have never been here so I don't know the best way.  Below is some information I have collected on the web to help you decide if you want to come along.  You don't need a ATV to come, you could bring your Motorcycle, hiking boots, cooler full of beer or a lawn chair.  It will be lots of fun.

Sand Mountain: Little Sahara seems quite popular because it has an elongated ridge, where the highest point is almost 700 feet above the dunes with steep, smooth slopes of sand devoid of any plants. The mountain can also be climbed on foot. This is difficult but rather fun, especially when sliding back down - the ascent takes half an hour but only a few minutes are needed to return. Some parts of the hillside have outcrops of weathered, bluish gray sandstone which help when scrambling up, and the ridge on top is formed by the same rock. From here there are great views over vast areas of undulating sand, stretching away to the southwest, a view only slightly spoiled by a power station a few miles away. It's your Great Basin ride-a-way tucked away in the Sevier Desert of central Utah. This designated recreation area is about 12 Miles long (North to South) and 10 Miles wide (East to West) It is not a perfect square.  This giant sandbox is made up of 60,000 acres of free-moving sand dunes, sagebrush flats, and juniper-covered hills. The dunes are an ideal sand-buggy playground, while the sagebrush flats and surrounding mountains are a challenge for motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles. There is three improved camping areas where you can camp overnight and have the luxury of improved rest room facilities. As you enter the area you will be privileged to purchase a whip flag to anchor to your ATV for the mere cost of $12.00 each (proceeds reportedly to go to the continued improvement of the area). If you are smart you will bring a whip flag along and save the inflated price. The purchase of the whip flag is not optional. If you don't have one, you buy one or you won't get in. This fee is in addition to your daily use fee or your overnight camping fee.
